Bring Meaning And Purpose to Life

Purpose and Purposelessness
MAPlabs is taking on the largest questions and the latest science in order to help you find deeper meaning and more fulfilling life purpose.

Research finds that up to 75% of us (that’s 3 out of 4 people you know!) lack a well developed sense of life purpose based on personal meaning.  Our ability to find meaning and develop purpose in our ever-changing culture is being challenged as never before. The result:  stress, boredom, anxiety, and lives that lack fulfillment.

But science is helping to identifying new approaches, like focusing not on the symptom of stress, but on its cause, which is often a less-noticed sense of meaninglessness.

Why Science?

When it comes to meaning and purpose, most of us rely on generalized or traditional concepts from our culture.  Scientists are now fleshing out and adding to these concepts with empirical data from rigorously constructed studies.   Our search for meaning and purpose can now benefit from statistically validated findings that remove some of the theoretical guesswork, and that ground our efforts in more efficient and effective practices.

This science is too empowering to remain primarily in the domains of academia and scholarly journals.  MAPlabs aggregates, distills, and synthesizes these powerful research findings into  programs that serve the world's searchers for meaning and purpose.  Our programs are designed to help you lead a more informed, empowered, and fulfilled life.

The 5 Dimensions of Meaning

Research shows that there is no single sense of meaning in life. Meaning is multidimensional. Knowing the dimensions, and how they affect you, changes how you create and experience life meaning.

The 4 Elements of Purpose

Scientists have defined the 4 elements of life purpose. Knowing these elements, and how they work together, empowers you to build toward purposefulness with intention and clarity.

The 2 Levels of a Meaning Matrix

Like an ecosystem, your levels of meaning work together, each informing the others, to create a meaning matrix that uniquely defines you, your values and beliefs, and your personal and relational experience of life.
